Weissman, Nowack, Curry & Wilco, P.C., (“WNCW”) one of the nation’s premier real estate law firms, is pleased to announce that  Jane C. Kotake and John G. Nelson have been voted 2009 “Georgia Rising Stars.”  They are among only 2.5% of Georgia attorneys receiving this distinction, placing them among the best young lawyers in the state.

Jane Kotake, a partner in the commercial real estate practice, represents builders and developers in the creation of condominium, mixed-use and other complex planned real estate developments throughout the country. Ms. Kotake also advises clients on real estate matters, including leases, purchase agreements, and brokerage issues. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the New York Bar Association. She earned her law degree from Syracuse University (J.D., 1995) and her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University (B.A., 1992). Ms. Kotake has received the "Rising Star" honor three times throughout her career.

John Nelson, a litigation partner, brings over 14 years of experience handling a broad range of complex trial and appellate litigation in state and federal courts to WNCW. He represents clients in lawsuits and arbitrations involving contracts, professional malpractice, real estate transactions and projects, partnership and business disputes, and cases involving allegations of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and abusive litigation. Mr. Nelson earned his law degree from Emory University (J.D., 1994) and his undergraduate degree from the University of West Florida (B.A., 1991). He has also received the "Rising Star" honor three times during his legal career.

“Rising Stars” are voted on by the most recent group of “Georgia Super Lawyers.” These select lawyers vote on peers they have personally observed in action that are either 40 years of age or under or who have been practicing 10 or fewer years.  The annual survey is produced by Law & Politics magazine.
